When you choose a clinic in Korea, online reviews and popularity can't reveal what matters most — how materials are handled, whether hygiene protocols are followed, whether the staff are properly trained, and whether there is a system for handling complications. None of it shows clearly in a star rating. What follows is written from ten years of consulting inside Gangnam's clinics.

Choosing a clinic in a foreign country is hard. The language is different, you know no one, and the only thing in your hands is a search result — star ratings and reviews.

The problem is that a star rating can’t tell you what actually matters.

What reviews don’t show you

Reviews can be manufactured. And popularity doesn’t mean a clinic is right for your case. The things that matter most — materials, hygiene, how the medical team is trained, how complications are handled — don’t really show on the surface.

How materials are stored. Whether expiry dates are respected. Whether single-use items are handled by the book. These happen behind the treatment-room door, where a patient can’t easily see. You could read a hundred reviews and still not know.
